What are "light" and "heavy" units?

These units are different classes of the original unit. Light units, when they level up or are upgraded, experience larger increments in speed, agility, and tactical, but smaller increments in HP, armor, attack, and critical. Heavy units are the opposite and have higher increases in HP, armor, attack, and critical, but lower increases in speed, agility, and tactical.

How do battle formations work?

At the start of each battle units of both teams will randomly oranize into 1-2 rows, which also depends on each unit's size. Being in the back row of the formation has its pros and cons. These units will have lower agility and attack values for the battle, but higher critical and tactical ratings.

Where do unit sizes become a factor?

Sizes are relevant to a team's capacity. Each team has a limit of 5 spaces. Small units take up 1 space, whereas medium and large units take 2 and 3 spaces each respectively. Hero units take up an additional space. A small hero unit would take up 2 spaces isntead of 1 of the team's capacity.

What does each unit stat do?

There are 7 main attributes for each unit in Strife. Each plays a critical role in determining the outcome of a battle.

Health points: Self-explanatory. It is how much damage a unit can take before it is considred "knocked out." As a unit gets weaker in battle its stats will decrease minutely.
Armor: Absorbs damage from an attack equal to its value. There is a small chance on each attack that armor will be completely disregarded.
Speed: Depicts how fast and often a unit will get to fight in a battle.
Agility: Is responsible for calculating a unit's chance to dodge an incoming attack or even miss their own attack.
Attack: Base damage value of a unit's offensive strike. Damage dealt is further modified according to the type of damage and the size of the target.
Critical: Accounts for whether or not a unit commits a critical strike, which does additional damage.
Tactical: Plays the more intelligent role of deciding if a unit will block an incoming attack for a teammate, and even counter-attack.

How do damage types factor into an attack?

There are 3 types of damage for any given unit in the game: normal, explosive, and concussive. A normal attack will deal initial damage equal to the unit's attack value. However, an explosive attack will deal more damage to a large unit, less to a medium unit, and even lesser to a small unit. Subsequently, a concussive attack will deal more damage to a small unit, less to a medium, and lesser to a large.

What types of splash damage are there?

Only 2 types of splash damage exist: linear and radial. Linear splash damage will be applied to a single unit, if one exists, in the back row of an enemy formation if the initial target was in the front row. A victim of linear splash will take a dramatic hit. The other type, radial, is also just as deadly. Radial attacks deal additional damage to every other unit on the target's team, but at much lower strength.
