First, let's get things straight. As much as we all wanted to hire him, Matt Damon's salary requirements were just too much for VG to handle. So Mr. Damon - aka "too sexy" - himself will not be joining our ranks, as misleading as the above banner may be (sorry for getting everyone's hopes up). Maybe one day, but for now we'll make do with the next best thing. Oh what I'd do to Mr. Damon's body.. such terrible, terrible things. ;)
Today is a glorious day for all of Vile Gaming. Today we celebrate the passing of the flame from one loyal and trusted member to another. Today we usher in a new blood to join the highest ranks of the staff of admins here at VG. Today we leap forward.
I am here to proudly announce the newest Head Admin to VG's staff: Matt, known to you all as eXqUiSiTe[nK]. Only a few have been able to grace the title of HA with me, and only a few have been able to present themselves as capable of holding that title. So my decision to promote Matt to HA was fairly easy. Matt has shown nothing but motivation, hard work ethic, and desire to help out the community. He has exhibited such qualities since the first day he joined the staff as an Editorial Admin (sometime back in November 2008). Since then he has served as a Shield Admin, and then promoted to Arch Admin (June 2009).
You've all seen Matt's presence around the site, whether it be helping the League Admins with complaints or solving hacker reports with the SAs, so his name is not foreign. There is no doubting that he has been one of the most supportive and helpful admins on the staff during his time served. More often than not, when a member has a problem they go to Matt and he gets them a solution with the best of his abilities or alerts the proper admin - and with incredible haste. He has mastered the ropes as an AA, but there is still much more to learn as a HA; this should be an easy task for someone of his caliber.
However, Matt's promotion does not come without its downside. With his promotion comes Russ' (Nova) demotion to AA. I don't like to think of it as a demotion though; it is more like a temporary retirement or unpaid vacation, if you will. Russ has been preoccupied with the finer things in life and we all look forward to his return to his higher levels of activity. He has always been a major moving force and milestone for VG and his legacy will not be forgotten. Russ has served almost 2 years as a HA and that is time well-served (reference: 1, 2). This does not mean he is not active on throughout VG and well-respected/trusted, but rather there is just a more fitting person to fulfill his role as HA for now.
Both Matt and Russ will have their names etched forever in the history books for VG as of this day, joining legends such as Kyel (viViD[nK]) and Nick (eLySiuM[nK]) - former HAs in their primes. As always, VG's history is the hands of its members, but only the strongest of these members are cast into the spotlight and only the most willing advance upwards.
Now is the time for VG to experience what Matt has to offer to the community at his fullest potential and capabilities; may VG continue to flourish under his guidance.
