The ninth season of Vile Amateur League is now in progress. Let's see if we can't make it an eventful season this time around, especially with StarCraft II on the horizon. I hope we get a better activity performance from fastest/money map players participating in VGT that want to transition and learn the art of normal maps. I highly recommend any of you looking to play SC2 that you start the transition now if you haven't already! Anyhow, the prizes for this season are the same as always: top 5 of the 1v1 ladder will get the respected flag and 1 month's worth of premium membership.
Season 8 of VAL is live!

The 8th season of Vile Amateur League is now in motion. Like the last season, only the 1v1 ladder is open for play. Withstanding the fact that there are better and more active non-money map leagues existing today, I really appreciate the support of those that do choose to get a few matches in under VAL. I was smurfing the last season to hide how newbie I am, but maybe this season I'll make a triumphant comeback and step into the limelight, or maybe not. The prize pool this season consists of the usual respected flag for the top 5, plus 2 months of premium membership to each of them.
I'll be implementing more exciting league features this season, but unfortunately the major ones I have planned are catered more towards VGT (being the more active league is all). That doesn't mean I won't do my best to show VAL some love though! Self-gloating aside, have fun and good luck this season, folks. I hope more of you choose to play this season in preparation for StarCraft II. The game is due to be released sometime this year and I wouldn't take that release date estimate lightly if I were you. ;)

Season 7 of the Vile Amateur League is now in session! Again only the 1v1 ladder is available this season. Though there are many non-money leagues out there we do manage to get a few hundred matches played each season of VAL, which is a pleasant thing to see always. Heck, I may even get some matches of my own in this season to prepare for SC2. Of course that will be under a smurf name that I challenge you all to find out. The prizes this time around are the normal respected flag for the top 5 of the ladder, and one month of premium membership on VG (valued at $5).
As per standard procedure each season, I will be implementing new features into the league as the days fly by. I hope you're all looking forward to my surprises. Shit just gets better and better around here as long as I'm around, and you can't quote me on that in the future. Anyhow, enjoy the 7th season of VAL. I look forward to seeing which talented players will grace the top positions at the end of the season. Good luck and have fun!

Activity in the Vile Amateur League has been hovering around 150 for the past few seasons, and while it isn't something to be proud of it is still better than nothing. So I'd like to take this time to personally thank each and everyone one of you for playing in VAL each recurring season. We all know there are better alternatives for playing non-money maps competitively, mainly iCCup, so to even see any level of activity in VAL is still welcomed with open arms here at VG. Anyhow, below are your finalists..

Season 6 of VAL is now underway. There will be a few prize opportunities this season that will be sure to appeal to some of you. As per a typical season, a few new features will be introduced throughout the weeks that follow. So be on the lookout for what's to come. Enjoy the season and let's ramp up the competition! This season the 1v1 ladder and clan ladder are the only ones available, just like the previous seasons. Good luck to everyone out there; here's to another season of hopefully increased activity. :D Below are the prizes possible..
