It looks like Blizzard is now taking a more progressive approach to spreading the word about StarCraft II. Just last week they aired a commercial on television sets all across the globe that was witnessed by millions of viewers during the 2010 NBA Finals. Today it seems they've announced their public initiative, or rather a call to arms, for every human being out there to do their part in the fight against our race's enemies: both across the universe and right here at home. There are multiple ways you can help out, which include taking an entrance exam, producing propaganda for mass consumption, and verbally telling your friends and family. Aside from my everyday undertakings towards coding different aspects of the VG network, there are some other goals and tasks that need to be accomplished that I just can't do by myself. Thankfully, I've been blessed to have, and have had, such great people volunteer their time to be admins on the staff here. The time they've committed to this community is invaluable and I am truly honored to have them on the same side. However, even though we have a staff of over two dozen admins that doesn't mean we have everything covered. Hardly, in fact. There's still many ideas that need faces behind them to make them become a reality. I know there's plenty of these faces out there amongst all of you that would love the opportunity to play a bigger role in this community.

BlizzCon 2010 is just around the corner and set to take place on October 22nd and 23rd. On top of pushing back the dates of the event every year, Blizzard has also decided to bump up the prices another $25 up to $150 (from $125 last year). Rest assured, like the past 2 years, that VG will be represented at BlizzCon in some way or another (if not me personally, then another member). I've attended the 2008 and 2009 conventions, but I'm still undecided of this year because of the timing and new prices; that is, of course, unless I somehow get hold of free tickets for this year.

With the SC2 Beta in progress and many people reverting back to the low money roots of Starcraft, take a trip back in time and enter the battle that is VAL. If you haven't joined in the SC2 Beta but are looking to play SC2 sometime in the future, I suggest you brush up on your low money skills by playing VAL. The top 5 finishes this season will receive the Respected flag and several months of premiumness (to be determined by Spartan at a later date). Good luck and happy gaming!
