Having limits on how much you can upgrade your units stats is having seriously gay implications. For example, my main team only consists of one heavy unit, the other being regular and light. The issue is that heavy units, even ones which are 2-3 levels lower than my units have armour that is higher than my units attacks even when it is maxed. Unless I plan on 2/3 of my units constantly doing 1 damage for their entire career there is nothing I am able to do to counter this other than change all of my units to heavy units.

Clearly this is retarded as what is the point of regular and light units when no matter how fast they are they will only do 1 damage unless they are lucky to bypass the armour, which from what I see is hardly worth it, seeing I get 2-3x more attacks, but their damage is about 30-40x higher when armour is put into place.

Heavy units in my opinion, were op in the beta, and still are op, and need to be reduced, or regular and light units adjusted to become viable options.

From what you described it sounds like you're fighting against teams that already upgraded armor a lot before I introduced the caps to upgrades in general. I've been watching many of the battles of newer teams over the past day or so and everything seems balanced enough. You really can't expect, for example, a light zergling to do more than 2-5 damage to a heavy hydralisk. Light units are still pretty weak compared to heavy units because abilities aren't introduced yet. Light units have better chances for an ability to fire. The goal is to make light units the "support" and heavy units the "primary damage." Of course with normal units a balance of both.

Well thing is, the difference will become clearer in higher levels, as from what I have seen, heavy units are able to increase their armour by 3 with every level up, while light and regular units are only able to increase their attack by 1 or 2. This is not evident with lower level teams as level 1 units are able to increase their attack a great deal more than their defence. If I recall a level 1 unit can not increase its defence at all, while being able to increase its attack 5 or so times. So this gives the illusion that it is balanced, however, it is clear, that if every level heavy units get 3 armour, while light and regular units get 1-2 damage, eventually the heavy units armour will surpass the light and regular units attacks, making them ineffective.

And if light and regular units are just support units, what support role can they play? Heavy units deal the damage so they can't do that, heavy units also take more damage so they can't take that role either, I can't really see any other role left for light and regular units to take, and the strongest teams will simply be made only of heavy units. Though you do speak of abilities that will supposedly change all this so I will wait patiently and see what you have planned lol.
