107 - Zealot (heavy) hits Hydralisk (heavy) for 1 damage (now 193).
113 - Zealot (heavy) hits Hydralisk (heavy) for 44 damage (now 153). 116 - Zealot (heavy) hits Hydralisk (heavy) for 2 damage (now 151). Same attacker/defender, why so inconsistent??? (I thought zealots would do well against hydralisk armor?) Play Strife Online, Good Luck ;) |

I'm assuming the hydralisk's armor is higher, or about the same, than the zealot's attack. What probably happened is the 20% chance that an attack will completely ignore armor.

Still I thought zealot attacks were more effective vs hydras; I thought you were taking into account damage types?
http://vilegaming.com/strife.x/units/13152 45 armor http://vilegaming.com/strife.x/units/1313 59 attack so what's with the 1 damage hits??? Play Strife Online, Good Luck ;) |

One of the units was probably in the back, which resulted in a decreased attack..

Isn't that 20% armor piercing thingy too much random for battles ? I mean, when opposed teams have about the same damage ratio, because of high armor and damages (not the opposite), 20% can really quickly send the outcome of the fight to a toss-up of who will be most lucky with it, regardless of who would have won on paper. I know there's the evasion/missed mecanism too, but this one lies on agility, hence upgrades, so...

meh, it doesn't matter when you look at the volume of fights you have.
no one fight is ever important enough that some freak probability is going to be greatly unfair, once in a while the 20% may be overly effective or vice versa but because of the volume of battles it will ultimately be a uniform advantage / disadvantage to everybody. When battling for ~25 credits it's not the same as for 2, and, well, it sort of spoil the "thrill" when two teams are really close in stats (I won with a tank left at only 4 hits to death when he finished off opponent ultralisk : one critical could have changed a lot) and the 20% thing send the fight off suspense. :p
