BATL announced!

Vile Gaming is proud to announce its first official jump into the competitive StarCraft II arena with..
BATL (pronounced "battle"), short for Battle for Ascendancy Team League, is a new league with its eyes set on becoming the largest organized, professional team-based competition for the foreign SC2 scene. This includes a full-fledged website (rather a section here on VG) with a redirect domain of BATL.us. The first season will have a significant prize pool, to say the least, which will be explained later in this post.

The prizes!
I am proud to be personally sponsoring the first season of BATL with $2,400 (USD) in cash for the pool. The first place team will receive $1,600 and the second place will receive $800.
However, if you'd like to donate to the prize pool, with either cash or computer hardware/gear, then please feel free to contact me at spartan@vilegaming.com. You will be credited and thanked for publicly. Also, if you're a larger organization and want to make a significant donation in exchange for avertising (ie. sponsorship/parntership), then don't hesitate to email me either.

The format!
The general outline is that of a mix between the NBA/NFL. Also, please note that, like all VG events, we run on the PST timezone.
There will be 3 divisions at 8 teams per division..
- Division 1
- Division 2a
- Division 2b
Division 1 is the premier league of some of the top, active teams out at this time. Divisions 2a/2b are the rest regular pools of teams. By no means does being in division 2a/2b mean a team is bad; they just may not be top-performing as the teams in division 1, or all the spots filled up beforehand. It is also worth noting that being in divisions 2a/2b doesn't mean you have zero chance of making it to the playoffs and winning the whole season as the champions.
Minimum of 6 players on a team roster, and maximum of 12; not including managers (unless they're a player, too).
A season (10 weeks) consists of the following..
- Regular season lasting 7 weeks long.
- Playoffs lasting 3 weeks long.
There is a 2-week break between seasons.
Regular season notes..
- 2v2 is currently set to be the ace match for a war. However, this is still up in the air for discussion of instead having a 1v1 as the ace match (2v2 will still be included).
- Players that played 1v1 in a war can be in the 2v2, or anyone else from the roster.
- Yes, there are 2 wars (days) per week.
- Day 1 is always Wednesday and Day 2 is always Saturday.
- Day 1 is a "half war" at two 1v1s and an ace 2v2.
- Day 2 is a "full war" at four 1v1s and an ace 2v2.
Regular season schedule..
As you can tell, the competition is setup in a round-robin format. The final standings are based on the flat score (percent) of each teams' 14 wars (ie. if a team goes 14-0 they're pretty much #1 on standings), and ties will be decided by the overall set/match scores. Penalty points will also affect the standings.
Playoffs..
The finals consists of 3 separate days (Bo3 wars). Champion team is declared and King's Cup goes to a player of that team.
We are hoping to register our target of 24 teams for the season; if not, we will run with what we have and the playoffs will be altered slightly.
Division rotations..
- The bottom 2 teams of division 1 drop to division 2a/2b.
- Top team of division 2a/2b go to division 1.
- The bottom 2 teams of division 2a/2b get kicked out for 1 season and replaced with a new applicant team (if any).
