Synopsis
Academy

StarCraft II continues the epic saga of the Protoss, Terran, and Zerg. These three distinct and powerful races will clash once again in the fast-paced real-time strategy sequel to the legendary original, StarCraft. Legions of veteran, upgraded, and brand-new unit types will do battle across the galaxy, as each faction struggles for survival.

Terran heroes Alexei Stukov, Jim Raynor, and Tychus Findlay return to do battle with the Protoss and Zerg forces. Formed from the ruins of the old Confederacy, the Terran Dominion has emerged as the dominant human power under the rule of Emperor Arcturus I. The Terran maintains their defensive prowess and muscle through a new mix of units and skills as the struggle for survival continues. With the Terran Dominion lacking the technology of the Protoss and the natural powers of the Zerg, every unit from the Marine to the Battlecruiser is vital to their success and survival in this new realm.

Of the three races, the Protoss far surpasses the Terran and Zerg in terms of technology. While the Zerg relies on raw numbers in battle, the Protoss relies on well trained, highly skilled and powerful units to defeat opponents. With highly advanced mechanical units at their disposal, Protoss heroes Artanis and Zertaul are faced with the task of preserving the Protoss species. With the battle resuming, the powerful Protoss machines will be put to the test against the Zerg's exponential numbers and the Terran's will.

Composed of multiple species, the Zerg swarm continues to play a role in the battle for Koprulu sector. Despite their lack of technology and complete dependence on biological adaptations, the Zerg cannot be taken lightly. While the Zerg's armor and weapons are biological adapatations, their buildings are in fact specialized organs and are a vital part to a Zerg colony. With the former Terran Sarah Kerrigan now known as the Queen of Blades leading the way, the Zerg remain a dominant force of nature as the saga continues.
